Quando e quanto enchimento colocar no amigurumi?

When and How Much Should You Stuff Your Amigurumi?

Stuffing helps shape your amigurumi. Too little can leave the piece floppy or unable to hold its shape. Too much can stretch the stitches apart and expose the stuffing.

When should you start? Follow the pattern's instructions. For pieces that will be closed, start stuffing while the opening is still wide enough to distribute the material easily. Then add small amounts as you work the final rounds.

How much should you use? Separate the stuffing into small portions and distribute it throughout the piece. Use your fingers to work it into the curves and tips, rather than leaving it all in the centre. Pause occasionally to check the amigurumi's shape and adjust the amount.

Before closing, check that the piece holds the desired shape when touched and that stuffing does not show between the stitches. Arms, legs and other small parts may need less stuffing, particularly where they will be sewn to the body. Always follow the pattern's instructions.

The secret is to stuff a little at a time: it is easier to add a small amount than to fix a piece that is already overstuffed.

Tip for smaller areas: if you struggle to push stuffing into the tips, a stuffing tool can help distribute it more precisely. Always add small portions and adjust the shape before closing.
