Returns and Refund Policy

Thank you for shopping at Oporto Amigurumi.

1. Right of withdrawal

For online purchases, consumers have 14 calendar days, starting on the day after they receive the items, to communicate their decision to return the purchase without giving a reason.

Where an order includes several items delivered separately, the period starts upon receipt of the last item.

2. Condition of returned items

Items must be returned complete and properly maintained, with the accessories and all other elements received and, whenever possible, in their original packaging.

Consumers may examine items to the extent necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

Use, consumption, missing components or damage resulting from handling beyond what is necessary for that examination may lead to a reduction in the refund corresponding to the actual loss of value caused.

Any reduction will be justified and communicated to the consumer.

The reduction may amount to the full price of the item where a complete loss of its value is demonstrated, taking into account the possibility of recovery and any residual value.

Yarn balls

Yarn balls must be returned complete, with their original bands, unused, without cuts or removal of yarn, and with the full quantity supplied.

Use or missing yarn, as well as destruction or absence of the original band, will be considered when assessing the diminished value of the yarn ball as a whole, rather than only the quantity consumed.

Crochet hooks and accessories

These must be returned complete, with the elements received and, whenever possible, in their original retail box or packaging.

Use or damage to the item or its retail packaging beyond what is necessary to examine the product may be considered when assessing diminished value.

Finished amigurumi

These must be returned complete and properly maintained.

Dirt, odours, deformation, pulled threads, cuts, damaged seams or other damage caused by excessive handling may be considered when assessing diminished value.

Stuffing

Stuffing must be returned with the full quantity supplied and suitably packaged.

Use, missing contents, contamination or alteration caused by handling beyond what is necessary to examine the product may be considered when assessing diminished value.

Kits

Kits are sold as a single product, with a single reference/SKU and an overall price.

The entire kit must be returned, including the printed pattern and all components received. Partial returns of components and separate refunds for those components are not accepted.

If components are missing, we will contact the consumer so that they can complete the return.

Missing, used or damaged components may lead to a reduction in the refund corresponding to the actual loss of value caused to the kit.

The printed pattern is packaged in a closed bag for protection. Opening the bag does not remove the right of withdrawal or, by itself, lead to a reduction in the refund.

The pattern is protected by copyright. Reproduction or sharing of copies requires authorisation, except for uses permitted by law.

3. Return procedure

To communicate a return, contact geral@oportoamigurumi.pt, stating your name, order number and the items you wish to return.

After that notification, you have 14 calendar days to send the items to:

Package the items suitably for transport and include information that allows the order to be identified.

4. Return costs

The direct cost of return shipping when exercising the right of withdrawal is borne by the consumer.

We recommend using tracked shipping and keeping proof of postage.

If you receive an incorrect, defective or incomplete item, or an item with any other lack of conformity, please contact us. Oporto Amigurumi will resolve the issue at no cost to the consumer, in accordance with the law.

5. Order cancellation

To request cancellation, contact geral@oportoamigurumi.pt.

If the order has not yet been dispatched, we will try to stop processing it. If it has already been dispatched, you may return it under this policy.

6. Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges for a change of preference. To obtain a different item, you may return the item originally purchased under this policy and place a new order.

This rule does not limit consumers' statutory rights where an item is damaged, incorrect, incomplete or non-conforming.

7. Refunds

The refund will be processed within the applicable statutory time limit.

After receiving the items, we will check their condition in accordance with Section 2 — Condition of returned items, and communicate any properly justified reduction in the refund.

This inspection does not extend the statutory refund deadlines.

The refund will be made using the same payment method used for the purchase, unless expressly agreed otherwise, and at no additional cost to the consumer.

When the entire order is returned, the amount paid for the items and the initial delivery charges will be refunded, subject to any properly justified reduction for diminished value.

When only some products from the order are returned, delivery costs will be treated in accordance with the law.

The refund amount is based on the amount actually paid, taking into account any discounts applied and any legally applicable reduction for diminished value.

8. Defective or non-conforming items

Items benefit from the applicable statutory guarantee.

In the event of a defect or lack of conformity, consumers have the rights provided by law, including, as appropriate, repair, replacement, a price reduction or termination of the contract.

These rights also apply to kit components and are not limited to the 14-day withdrawal period.

To report an issue, contact geral@oportoamigurumi.pt, providing the order number where possible and photographs that help identify the problem.
