Which Yarn Should I Use to Sew Chenille or Velvet Pieces Together?
Chenille and velvet yarns are soft and bulky, but they can separate, shed fibres or even break when pulled repeatedly during sewing.
To join amigurumi parts, I personally prefer to use a cotton or cotton/acrylic blend yarn, in a colour close to the piece. It is easier to handle and makes for firm, discreet and strong seams.
For all my chenille or velvet pieces, I usually use YarnArt Jeans or YarnArt Jeans Plus for assembly/sewing.
